My life rebegins today. 2

Posted by White House on November 30, 2004

Today is the first day of the rest of my life. This may be kind of a dramatic statement, but it feel apropriate. I finished the GRE exam today. I have decided to try to go back to school. Studying for the GRE ONLY consumed NINE days of my life. That means that I can now redevote the rest of my unemployed time (untile I begin school (if I get in)) to Mrs. House, pets, beer, and Playstation. This is actually not true. Tomorrow I will be hard at work on grad school applications. How fun. Maybe I should scrap my engineering grad school plan and see if there are any Playstation universities looking for students.

Good-bye NanoMuscle

Posted by White House on November 20, 2004

I, as well as most of my friends, was laid off today. NanoMuscle is rapidly receding into the ether. Apparently, The investors decided that the risk/reward ratio was not in their favor. This was a fairly abrupt end, but I should not complain… It would have been a hard gamble for me too.

I guess I will have to find something else to spend 40 hours a week doing… thank god for Playstation (there is always a bright side).

The End 1

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I’ll never look into your eyes…again

…This is the end.

The Doors

I’ll expain tomorrow…

Wilco F-ING Rocks

Posted by White House on November 15, 2004

Mrs. House and I saw Wilco at the Paramount in Oakland last night. It was absolutely awesome. Scooter told me that they were pretty mellow in concert. I definitely did not come away with a similar impression. There were some slower more relaxed songs, but for the most part they just rocked out. My favorite was Spiders (Kidsmoke). Kidsmoke starts out with just a simple techno beat. The beat builds with some added guitar and vocals, and when you think the beat couldn’t get more intense, they bust out some awesome heavy guitar rock. I really love listening to it from CD, but live was an entirely different experience. In total the concert gets two thumbs way up from the White House.

No shit! That’s what it says! I took this in Berkeley, on Gillman St, on August 16. I drove past it about 4 time before I figured out that the sign had been hacked. I kept thinking, what the hell does that mean… it can’t mean what I think it means… that’s not even right in Berkeley… Whoever did it did a great job, but if you look really closely you can see where it had been modified.

Sausalito Hawk 3

This was taken from a ridge overlooking Sausalitio in the Golden Gate Recreation Area. In the Fall this area is full of migratory raptors.
