British Brain Donors! 1

Posted by White House on May 25, 2005

CNN and others are reporting that a couple of British brain donors decided to film a real lightsabers fight, and it didn’t turn out well. They filled two glass tubes with gasoline, and you can probably guess what happened. Read the story here. No matter what the test scores say, Europeans are not smarter than us.

This is how you will look the first time you try Firefox. If you don’t believe me, check out these videos (totally work safe) of satisfied Firefox customers. If you don’t know by now… Firefox is an alternative to Microsoft’s Internets Explorer. In addition to Firefox being better than IE in all respects, it is free. So check out these videos, and then click the link to check out Firefox. You won’t be disappointed with either.

Sith doesn’t suck.

Any street cred I had just got destroyed like all of the Jedi… I just saw Revenge of the Sith on opening day… I didn’t stand in line for the midnight showing… If that helps my case any. Anyway…

Revenge of the Sith was far better than could be expected from Episodes 1 and 2. It is hands down the best of the recent trilogy. I would even go as far as to recommend it to non Star-Wars-dorks. The dialog is still somewhat flaky. I don’t know how Lucas can entice such poor acting from the likes of Samuel L. Jackson and Ewan McGregor, but he did a worse job this time than in the previous two films. (That is a convoluted way of saying the acting doesn’t suck nearly as bad as before.) The story is easier to follow this time around too. In summary, I give it the Billstron Thumbs Up. Go see it… it is worth the price of admission.

Well… Star Wars Revenge of the Sith opens tomorrow (or tonight at midnight if you are a big enough dork). There are a number of reviews out. Here are links to the two I have read.
When “Sith” Sticks to Darth
Star Wars Ends With Solid Sith

For more reviews you can go to Google News and search on “Star Wars Reviews.” Google turned up 950 search results as of this posting. With that many, you can probably even find someone that says it is worthy of an Oscar. From what I have seen, this is not a great film, but it is the best of the new trilogy. That is really not saying much though.

To get in the mood, I suggest you check out Atom Films Star Wars Fan Film Awards. Atom Films is a site dedicated to distribution of home made movies. Apparently every year they have a Star Wars Fan Film contest. I watched a couple of the movies. I highly recommend Anakin Dynamite. It is a very funny spoof on both Napoleon Dynamite and Star Wars. The Napoleon Dynamite fans will love it.

Enjoy the movies…

Bush is such a dork! 1

Umbrellas turning inside out is one of my favorite things in the world to witness. I’m not exactly sure why. It is probably because umbrellas are for dorks. At least… I always feel like a dork using one. When it turns inside out, you are being exposed as an even bigger dork because you can’t control you dork implement. Apparently Mrs. Putin also likes to watch them turn inside out. Bush, himself, also looks pretty humored by being exposed for the dork he is. Surprise… Surprise… Vlad doesn’t find it at all funny. After he removes all freedoms from the Russian populace, he will make producing a faulty umbrella a capital offense.

By the way, the Bushes visited Vlad and his wife yesterday. Thanks to Yahoo for the picture.
