My favorite nerd website Gizmodo just had a contest for the best office prank. The winning prank was by far the best office prank I have ever seen. These guys dropped 2000 super balls onto their unsuspecting co-workers head. They even have video from 3 different angles to prove it. Brilliant! Go to their site (here) and download the movie at the top of the page. It is a real ball buster.
A Real Ball Buster
Cosplay… huh?

I just learned about something fairly interesting, and I am going to avoid disparaging it in this post.
Cosplay is a hobby that I have never heard of before today. Wikipedia has this to say about it. The word is a contraction of the words costume and play. As the picture suggests… people dress up like things… whatever they want. There is a community of people that do this. They have websites and conventions. If you don’t believe that this is legit, google it and you will get 683000 reasons to believe it. Cosplay.com is google’s top hit on the word. Check it out. They have a bunch of pictures of people doing their chosen hobby.
This is a pretty interesting hobby, to me. Not that I want to dress up like something, but the idea of occasionally being something you’re not is pretty desirable. Who wouldn’t want to be a Jedi, but I don’t think JUST dressing up like one would really do it for me. I want to tell a bartender that he want to give me a free Sierra Nevada, wave my hand, and then be given a free Sierra Nevada. Doing the first two of those things without receiving a free beer just makes you a dork (I just broke my promise). I escape reality through video games. On a PlayStation you can be a Jedi with all of the Jedi powers. A digital Sierra Nevada doesn’t taste quite as good as the real thing, though. To each their own…
Blanton Wins!

After an exasperating start to the season (this pic doesn’t even do it justice), the former UK Wildcat Joe Blanton gets his first major league win. Joe finished 7 innings in the Oakland Athletic’s 4 - 2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays to clinch the win. I have been excitedly following Joe’s career with the A’s since the start of the season because he pitches for my favorite team and used to pitch for my alma mater. Honestly, he has had more good starts than his 1-5 record would indicate. On more than a few occasions, the A’s anemic offense has let him down by barely scoring any, if any, runs. It looks like that has been straitened out, with the return of last year’s rookie of the year Bobbie Crosby, from the DL. Anyway… Congratulations Joe! Billstron is hoping for many more Blanton wins with the A’s.
